The City Of Newport Beach has reopened all the beaches after they were closed due to approximately 131,000 gallons of oil was spilled off the Orange County coast. The reopening of the beaches occurred Monday at 2 pm although testing is still on going.
The spill could have been much worse in damage and also it happened after the very important peak Summer season. The oil spill will bring up the debate again about banning oil drilling off the coast of California. Anytime there is an oil spill it brings up this debate but often as we get further away from a spill the talk stops, we will have to see what happens this time.
